I took Brady back to his pediatrician today. We had been trying a few different medications and a special formula she recommended. After seeing no improvement, his doctor is referring him to a GI Specialist. She listened to me nurse him and also take a bottle, and thinks he has an active bowel, and that something is wrong with his digestive system. She is ordering an Upper GI and we will take it from there. She believes something is "wrong" and said no baby should cry most the day and night, and we completely agree! It's so sad when he is crying, we feel so helpless. (and our nerves are shot)
We're hoping to get into the GI Specialist quickly!

Please pray for patience for our family as we continue to try to figure out what is wrong with our little guy. He is so cuddly and when he is awake and not crying, he is starting to smile and coo. We love the moments when we get to see him content, although it is not often. Please also pray for Jayden. He is really struggling with the constant screaming. He is now putting his hands over his ears and screaming when he can't seem to take it anymore. Since I walk the floor most the day (and night), trying to soothe Brady, I get very little time with Jayden and it is showing in his behavior. It's hard to not have the time with him that we are both used to.
The good news...we FINALLY got an appointment for his echocardiogram. Our appointment is this Wednesday at Loma Linda Children's Hospital. We are praying the openings to
his heart will have closed on
their own so we can be done with this issue.

I guess we're just doing a lot of praying and waiting at this point! ;)

My youngest daughter cried like this. It is heartbreaking to see your infant cry real tears and there doesn't seem to be any way to relieve them. She would cry so hard she would projectile vomit. She screamed and vomited in the car, house, swing, etc. Nothing seemed to give her relief. (I could hold her out away from my body in a somewhat curled up position and she would seem to be okay for a while. I tried EVERYTHING. Stopped nursing...special formulas...tummy drops...you name it. I worked in a small town and couldn't find childcare for her because everyone knew how bad the screaming was.
My brother-in-law (who is a physician) finally said that maybe I would want to try a chiropractor - I had tried everything else & what could it hurt? (I had never been to a chiropractor and basically thought of them as "quacks" - sorry if I have offended anyone with that comment, but it was the truth.) I drove 75 miles (150 round trip) to take her to a chiropractor that had worked with infants. (My brother-in-law came along so they wouldn't do anything "dangerous" to my daughter.) The chiropractor massaged the roof of her mouth with his finger.....used a "clicker" placed over his fingers on a spot on her back/neck....and was very gentle with her. (She didn't cry any more or less during the treatment.) I brought her back 2 hours later before the car ride back home. He did the same things to her. She was calm & slept the entire 75 miles home. That hadn't happened in a carseat since she was born (approx. 1 month earlier). That night she still cried, but I didn't notice the tears of pain that accompainied it. We drove back again the following day (in a snow storm) for 2 more treatments (about 2 hours apart). Once again the ride home was peaceful. I went away that evening and left my daughter at home with my husband. I remember the dread I felt when it was time to go home....I just knew I would be going home to another night of screaming. To my complete astonishment she was laying on a blanket on the floor cooing at the television when I walked into the house. I asked my husband "what have you done with my baby?!?" he replied that she had been like that all night! In my eyes it was nothing short of a miracle (and definately answered prayer). She was a totally different baby!
We made that 150 mile trip a couple more times. (Looked for a chiropractor that was closer to our home, but didn't get the same results - he used a rougher technique and it was too hard on me.)
By the time she was 6 weeks old we stopped going to the chiropractor. The digestive problems seemed to clear up and she has was a happy, content & healthy girl ever since.
I still have strong opinions regarding chiropractors, but this guy did amazing things for my daugher.
Thanks for the post. Just wondering...have we met? Just wondering how/if we know you?
Krista, we will be praying for you! I can't imagine the condition your heart is in having to hear Brady's cry all the time and not being able to fix it. These are the times when the Lord's power can be made apparent when He brings you through.
Keep us updated!
